Oct 26, 2015

Hello family! espero que tengan un buen halloween!!! acá en argentina no celebran halloween! mama gracias por su regalo de halloween! lo recibí!  todos les encanto! hahaha

this week was really stressful and we worked hard! its been tough because we havent been able to see nicole alot.......satan always attacks after the baptism. but we are going to keep moving forward! now we have  put a fecha with her older brother! Nicolas. he is so amazing! he doesnt feel prepared enough to be baptized but we invited him and he is praying to recieve his answer. i know he will get baptized on saturday entonces no se preocupen. we are working really hard with him but other than that we dont have any investigators progressing so that is going to be our focus this week. finding the people who are prepared!
last sunday was mothers day down here so we help prepare an activity for the mothers to celebrate with them! it was really successful and a lot of people went! the food was delicious!!!! yesterday we had to stay in the pension all day because of elections! its super weird but president wanted us to stay inside cause it can be kind of scary. this is the last week of the transfer and so we are pushing to the fullest! i will be staying for sure so im excited! i like plottier alot. the people are really great here.

im sorry that this letter is short but that is what happened this week! i hope everyone has a good week! i love you all so so so much! remember that your heavenly father loves you so so so much!!!!!!! CHAU!!

Hice dedo‏

hello family and friends!
how is everyone is fine day?? what a busy week it has been! I can say that Nicole did get baptized and confirmed this week. It was the bestest thing of my whole entire life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man i love that 12 year old girl! she was so prepared to get baptized! she helped us clean the font and she wanted to help prepare her own baptism! she is so amazing! the cool thing was that her step dad that we are working with works alot and wasnt going to be there on saturday but he asked for permission and his work let him go for a little while! it was a huge miracle! i loved it!  Nicole is so happy and i asked her how she feels and she said.. copado!!! that means like awesome or cool.

we were mostly worked with nicole this week and i honestly dont know how we finished everything in time! haha i can say that i am really tired! but it is all worth it. this week we are going to focus on her brother, nicolas. he is 16 and he has a lot of questions and he has the right to have questions. He is also prepared. he has made friends with a few of the yonng men. it is really amazing!!!

if you can understand my subject line hahah yesterday we were stranded a little cause we had missed the bus and it comes every hour and we had a cita so we hitchhiked....haha mom and dad dont kill me but it had to be done. she was a really nice lady! she gave us a ride and we got her address to go and visit her.

all i can say is that this week was really rewarding and i felt the spirit. i was sitting in the baptism service and i was thinking of everthing that we had done and i got this warm confirmation from the spirit that this is why im here. that what we did was important and the spirit was really strong. I love being here in the mission and i am grateful the have meet all of these amazing people!!! I LOVE ARGENTINA!!

i hope everyone has a good week!!!!!! les quiero mucho!! chau!!

Hey Friends and Family!

hello family and friends! how are you all doing? i would love to hear from you all!! ha

unfortunarly i was sick for about 3 days so i didnt have the opportunity to leave a lot.

my companion and I thought that Nicole needed another sunday at church. so we pushed her fecha to this coming saturday! but si o si she is getting baptized! the other day we made invitations and everything! we also got the opportunity to meet the husband of Luciana! he is really amazing! i think theyll get married. im just not sure when. that is up the them. Yesterday at church Luciana and her whole family was there. they are a family of gold!! we had 4 investigators at church yesterday! IT WAS AWESOME! The members are getting better. our assistance is about 50 to 60 people. there are a lot of less active members because of the bishop. its a little tough sometimes but we are trying so hard to visit a lot of people and i want to get to know a lot more people.

here in plottier the weather is weird. its raining one day and im sweating the next. but its all good! our pension is really small everything is in one room! and we have a grido right next door. grido in an ice cream shop. its the best! there arent a lot of youth so with the youth investigators its a little hard.

We have 2 investigators progressing. Luciana and Nicole. but recently the brother of nicole is hanging out alot with the young men and he is really loving it! so we are going to put a fecha with him. he already has gone to church 2 times! this family is really amazing!!

We are almost done with this transfer and i cant believe out fast the mission is going. i dont was to come home. i want to see all of you but im scared to come home hahaha jk but i fear for the future. the mission is literally the best thing in the whole world. I love the people here and the things that i am doing. All i want is to do the will of the father and keep his commandments. I WANT to return to live with him again. I love this gospel with all of my heart.

i hope everyone has a good week! stay cooL!!!

Hola!

hello family! How are you all doing!

this week has been really really good! We have been really concentrated in our investigator nicol. she is 12 and she is going to get baptized on satruday. we are also teaching her mom and her brother but her mom has to get married. She is soo cool and her and her family went to conference this weekend! conference was amazing and i loved it so much! it was a miracle becuase we got to watch it in english haha

we are working really hard to get more baptisms and i am so so so excited that nicol is going to be baptized. i had a really weird experience this week. we were planning on what to teach nicol and i just didnt feel like she was ready to get baptized and i was telling my comp, hermana huaman,  what i was feeling and she was helping me alot. i dont know how to explain the thought or the feeling but i think it was fear. hermana huaman helped me figure out that that it what it was. she helped me have a little more faith and i started to cry and cry. i didnt know why! it was really weird. And i had realized that i was crying for an investigator. ive never felt like that in the mission. i love all the people that i teach but it was the first time that i didnt want the person that i was teaching to go inactive and not have the gospel in their life. i was so scared. i was thinking about my conversos and i didnt want them to go inactive. but hermana huaman told me that i need to have more faith in the people that we are teaching and that we are going to be okay. it was a weird experience and i realized that i love these people with all of my heart and i want them to be perfect! im not perfect but i want them to know everything becuase they are just precious people. they deserve everything! i love the work that im doing! it can be hard but VALE LA PENA! (its worth it. }

thanks for your support and your love! have a good week!!!

No tenga miedo a testificar de un principio del evangelio

Hello family and friends!!!

first, yes i am still alive. but thank you for all of the letters! i love to hear from the family!

this week has gone by so fast! i can't believe im writing you guys again! we are in the second week of the new transfer and today we had a training meeting. president has changed some things and i honestly think its going to help. We are focusing more on preach my gospel.... also on baptisms, obviously! i am getting really excited. this way we are finding a lot of new people. this transfer there are only 2 pairs of missionaries. before there were 3 pairs so we are missing a pair and that means that our area got a lot bigger! so we are recieveing a lot of new references and walking a lot more, but i love it because we have more area.

today in our training we were asked why do we want to baptize. They called on me and the first thing that i thought of was valeria, my first convert. the image of her going into the font and coming up as a new person was so amazing and it is something that i will never ever forget. i am here in the mission because i know that being baptized and following the example of jesus christ will literally save your life. I know that we as latter day saints dont do a lot of stuff....not becuase we are weird, but  its because we know that there is pure and true revelation from a living day prophet. sometimes they may seem like rules that trap us, but really they set us free. the number one thing you should always be thinking is.. is the spirit with me right now?

i know that this gospel changes people. i have seen it with my own eyes and with my own life. The decision to serve a mission literally saved my life. if i wouldnt have made this amazing decision i dont know where i would be, honestly!

i know that baptism is the only way we can enter in to live with god and jesus christ and with our family forever. Take a minute and think why our church, the church of jesus christ of latter day saints is different. it is because we have the restored preisthood authority again here on the earth. i am so grateful for the opportunity to be apart of this gospel that is allowing me to share it with other people.

i love the gospel, i love my heavenly father and i love every single one of you. if you are falting (missing or lacking) something, its not too late to start again. go to your heavenly father and talk to him. he is there and is ready to listen. este evangelio es verdadero. se eso con todo mi corazon.

les quiero muchisimo. que tengan una buena semana!!!!!!

Ponga amor en su alfajor

FELIZ CUMPLE MES A MI! today i hit 8 months here in the mission. wow i can't believe how fast time has gone! but i am loving every moment. bad times happen but as i look back on the experience that ive had, i cant remember the bad ones... only the good ones. this is truly the work of the lord that i am doing and that we should all be doing. to celebrate, all of us missionaries are going to have an asado. its like a bbq,  but better. the first of many!

this week has been good but it went by really fast. every week we have a family home evening with the ward here. the missionaries are in charge of it! so every week we get together and come up with ideas of what we can do. this last week we made alfajores de meicena. or in other words alfajores made from cornstarch. we made 180 alfajores so it was like 300 tops. then you can make then with dulce de leche and the shredded coconut. they are so good but we made so much. every person made a plate of 6 alfajores and they gave it to a friend or less active. it was really nice. also, we had an investigator come to it was really good!!!
we are working alot with our invitations to be baptized. yesterday we had a cool experience. her name is maria. she doesnt talk much and i have known her for awhile. so we went to see them and we started talking about the plan of salvation and how the only way we can enter into the kingdom of god is through baptism. so we invited her to be baptized and she said yes! we are still working on a date for here but it was really cool cause i have never seen her like that. we are seeing lots of progress. the members here are amazing! they are all so funny and generous to the missionaries. the youth program here is amazing i am going to miss those jovenes so much! we are seeing progress with our less actives and we are working so hard to get them back to church!!

i love being here and i am so happy that the book of mormon is blessing so many lives. keep reading. if your not reading every day, i invite you to start reading every day. even if its 1 verse. it WILL bless your life. i am amazed and grateful everyday that i am here in argentina talking spanish and helping others know who jesus christ is. he really is our perfect brother and i know he can help us with anything if we have enough faith.

have a very successful week and know that i am always thinking about you guys! que tenga una semana de exito!! les quiero muchisimo!!

Hip Hip Hooray!

wow this week of emails was amazing!!!! thank you so much for all of the love!!!! dad i honestly started crying when i saw the picture!!! you and mom both look so amazing and i have never been more proud in my  life!!!!!!! congrats on being cancer free dad! i can truely see the Lord blessing you while i am here!!!!!!

this week was a little harder than others. we are still having a difficult time ni finding new people to teach and want to progress. I dont know why but nobody wants to listen to us in the street so we are working with that. i dont want to get anyone down, the mission life is still so great! in our cell phone we can montón de personas that we have never met and so we get to call them and make a cita. we we called this guy named emiliano hes an antiguo investigador (i dont know antiguo is in english hahah)  and he is super chill and we invited him to a baptism this weekend and he said yes. so we planned to go to the baptism but presdent told everyone that we had to stay inside for the big soccer game that was on saturday. the final cup against argentina and chile. so we never went but this week we are hoping to meet him.

we have so many less active people here it is crazy! every person that we meet, is a less active! ha so we are meeting with members and trying to visit the menos activos here in our ward. we are trying to find new ways to contact people so if you have any ideas let me know!!

training has its ups and downs. i am a lot more stressed cause i have to teach someone and there is so much "business" in the ward and the people we have to talk to but hermana gonzales is doing really well. her desire to know people is huge and she wants to teach so bad but we dont have a ton of people to teach so with that i feel bad sometimes! she only has 3 weeks in the mission so she is also learning patience as well!just as i did in being new.

thank you for all of the support back there at home. i hope your summer vaction is very well spent and remember that i love love love you so much!

hermana jones
