Santiago 1:5

Hello family and friends!!!!!
I would just like to say that Hermana Lara is here for 6 more weeks!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy because I love that girl and it would have sucked if she would have left. So when a missionary first gets here, they have to do training for 12 weeks! so i have 6 weeks left. OH IM HALFWAY THERE! This week we have had a lot of successes so i will share a few.
First, we met a girl named Valeria. She is really nice. she has 2 kids and she was a reference from another investigator. At first we just went to meet her and she said we could come by and talk to her but when we did, it was too late because her mom had taken her to another church and she liked it. so of course, me and hermana lara were a little disappointed but we could feel something like she wasnt all the way convinced. then like 3 or 4 days later we saw her in the street and she said she didnt like what the pastor was saying and she wanted to know everything about our church. So this last week we got to share with her the plan of salvation. she is all the way in. she also came to church yesterday which it HUGE! so today we are meeting with her and we are going to ask her to prepare for the 28 of march!!!! its really exciting!!!
Sadly, natalia, we cant find her. we go by her house all the time but she never is there or she is always sleeping so hopefully we see her this week.
Patricia, she is doing well. we gave her a commitment to read mosiah 2 and she didnt so that kind of made us worry cause if an investigator doesnt do their compromiso, then its really hard to get them to progress. but we are hoping that she will read the pamphlet about the restoration and pray.
Another cool story, we have been working with a menos activo and she is not less active anymore!! yesterday they gave her a calling as a ward missionary!!!!!!!! she is so happy! she was actually the one who have the pamphlets to valeria! she is muy capa! and she said yesterday that missionaries have helped her before but me and hermana lara have really helped her and she was thanking us and i just love that woman so much! shes helarious!
this week we also had the opportunity to teach english!! oh it was so fun! and everyone liked it so we are doing it every Saturday!!!!!
A new transfer is so nice. it feels like a new semester. so i am really trying to change some things of how i study and how i pray and everything because honestly this last transfer went by so fast! and i am really loving esquel! it will be sad to leave this place. but i will probably be here 3 more transfers if im lucky!
i hope mom, you had a good birthday!!!! thats awesome! this week is going to be awesome! pray for me and that valeria with accept her baptism date!!!! thank you for everything you guys do! i love you so much!
my challenge this week is to have a family home evening. I know its hard cause everyone is busy. but invite a less active family for another family and the missionaries over cause it is just a fun way to share the gospel and it really works for us down here!
i hope everyone has a good week! i love you all so much!!!!

Hola!

Hello from Argentina!!! i have offically been in esquel for 6 weeks! It is crazy that the transfer ends this week! i am half way done with my training.

I am so happy every monday to get letters from everyone! I love you all so much! Not to be weird but where is Jon? Has he fallen off the earth?

This week was really good. fast and slow. Unfortunately, hermana lara was sick so we got to rest a little bit in our pension. But we still are working hard. we live right below this place called Canadon and it really is up in the canyon! like we walk up there everyday and there are so many houses. We have a lot of people that we visit and try to contact. Patricia, we have met with her once and now we cant find her so hopefully she still likes us. and Natalia is so funny! everytime we come she is always sleeping but we had the chance to talk to her and she seemed not interested at first but we kept talking to her about the plan of salvation and she looked more and more interested so hopefully she wants to hear more!!!

So some sad news, Me and hermana Lara will not be teaching Ricardo anymore. Some stuff happened, but the elders are still going to teach him. Keep praying for him cause i hope one day he will want to change.

I will tell a cool story. We were visiting a recent convert, Luciana. she just got baptized 2 weeks ago. wow ella es CAPA! She smoked, did drugs, has tattoos and she lived with her boyfriend. The elders were teaching her and they said that smoking and drugs were against the word of wisdom, and that she cant live with her boyfriend so she moved out! The law of chastity is really hard around here for people but she did it and she has 2 little girls. She comes to church and noche de hogar every week! So yesterday i honestly jjust told her that i was super proud of her and that her testimony is so strong and if she would share it with our investigator, Mirian. She said yes!! so we are really excited!

It is really hot here and we walk everywhere!!!!! OH! my first experience with bad food. so we went to eat lunch with Hermana Manz. she has really good cooking but she made this vegetable pie. Oh my gosh! it took everything in me to get it down! The sad thing was that hermana lara loved it so she wanted more but if she would have gotten more i would have had to have more. but luckly hermana lara is aweomse and she could tell that i was having a hard time. Honestly the pie was like cooked spinich and other stuff in a pie. it was sooooo gross!!!!

So hermana lara has one transfer left so hopefully she doesnt get transfered on monday so maybe next week, ill have a new companion. and i am freaking out a bit. but ya fue.

ok so i have my ipod here but im stupid and didnt bring a cord to charge it with..... so anyway you could put it in an envalope and send it??? that would be awesome!!! tambien, so last pday we went out to eat lunch and a burger and fries was like 85 pesos. so that is why i used the card. and i might have to use it today so i can buy food. cause we have two weeks left in the month. this month i dont know what we have done to run out of money- so so sorry. next month i will be better.

my challenge this week is to do a service for someone. it doesnt matter if it is physical or you write a card to someone. just do something nice for someone else. Christ came to this earth to share his gospel and serve others. when you have to opportunity to serve someone else, you can see them through christs eyes.

I love you all so much! i hope you all have a good week! i think about you guys all the time and i remember how blessed i am to have a CAPO familia. have a good week and an elephant once told me to remember that you are loved, remember why you are here, remember what your purpose is and remember that i love you. chau!

Hola!!!!

hello family and friends!
I have successfully finished another week here in esquel! it is so hot and windy all the time! i honestly cant remember anything that happened this last week! it went by so fast and it was crazy! we found 2 new investigators and they are both really nice! one is name patricia and the other is natalia! i hope they want us to come back!

This week was full of emotions. good and bad. we teach Ricardo about twice a week and it is really frustrating. i dont think he wants to change. but he keeps coming to church every week but we taught him on saturday and he was so mean! he wouldnt answer any questions i asked him if he wanted to become like christ and he said no... so honestly hermana lara started crying after. it was really hard because we are helping this man so much and he is giving us nothing. so we went to talk to him yesterday. He said he was kidding around but we told him how we loved him and how we want to help him. so we are coming up with ideas to help him stop smoking.

Honestly all i remember this week was teaching. for a while we have been walking around the streets trying to see everyone but we actually taught. me and hermana lara are getting along great! we are always laughing and our companion studies are really great! right now we are making the lessons into lessons for kids! its so fun!!!!! so we have some craft nights too! it is going to be sad when she leaves cause i will be totally lost.

on monday, we got to do family home evening with an old couple and the elders. it was so funny! we taught them how to make tacos! they have never had tacos! they were so delicious and they loved them!!!!!! it was so funny!! we also had the opportunity to teach noche de hogar on friday night.we taught them about the tree of life and how we need to share the fruit. so we gave everyone a tarjeta that we give out when we contact and we had to go on the streets and find someone to give it to. their faces were awesome! they didnt want to do it but they all gave out their card!!!! it was awesome!

i am glad everyone is doing well! i want to see pictures of the birthday party! i thought of ryan and zac a lot this last week! i love you guys so much!!! my challenge this week is to starting reading the book of mormon together. we are doing our challenge and they invited us to invite our families tambien. so please do it! the book of mormon is amazing and i know that it is true!!!! can you please send me tanners email and grandpas?? i dont have those. ill send pics too!!!!! love love love love you!!!!! have a good week!!!!!!!

Mosiah 7:33

well hello my family:) how is everyones week going? i have loved the emails and geez everyone has so many questions!!!!! ok....
hermana lara is 21 and she is from orem and she has about 8 weeks left. one more transfer after this!

the church here in esquel is awesome and there are about 30 people there! there isn´t alot. i try to talk to all of them or at least shake their hand. we are the young woman leaders and we have 1 young woman, her name is Dani. there is one church in all of esquel so for some its really far to go to church! there are 4 sets of missionaries. esquel is split into 4 parts and then we have 2 more pairs in another town. its great cause hermana webb is in my district so i get to see her once a week!

the food here is awesome!!!! always noodles! and meat. its like ravioli with ground beef and ALWAYS bread!!! its delicious! i actually got to eat pizza this week too! its amazing cause they put hard boiled eggs on top. i dont know why we dont do that!! we usually eat with members with for lunch its really great!!!
ok this week we met with alot of people and also we have done a lot of walking! its really got and my tan is the bomb! but one man we are meeting with is Ricardo. the man who smokes. he is so sweet and we are working with him really hard to help him to stop smoking. we had the word of wisdom lesson with him this week so hopefully it helped. another man is daniel. he is a menos activo. he has a smoking and drinking problem. but he is really great. he really wants to change.

OK I HAVE LIKE 6 MORE MINUTES LEFT SO IF I DONT ANSWER SOME SORRY!

another lady we are working hard with is Maria sapulveda. she is great. she knows alot and she loves to learn more. she is also a menos activo. we met with her yesterday and i was ready to get all doctrine with her but we were talking and she wants her son to get the preisthood so she asked us.. how can i be prepared to teach? what can i do to be more prepared? i was so suprised! she has changed so much and i love her desire. so we taught her the restoration and next week she has to teach it to us. it is great!!!!!  today we, as a district, are hiking up to la cruz! its a cross on the top of the mountain and it looks so high and its going to be hot but i will send pics sometime.

my challenge this week is something a little different. i am glad everyone is doing well with the challenges. and i love that you are memorizing scriptures! i am also trying to do that so i can know the language better. so i want everyone to find a scripture and memorize it in SPANISH!!!!!! it will be great. you can pick like moroni 10:5 its really short. i learned it in the mtc. but try it. everything sounds better in spanish.

i hope everyone had a wonderful week!!!!!! sorry for the shorter time. but i love you all and i think of you often. remember that i love you!!!!!!!!

oh and look at mosiah 7:33 for comfort and well. have a wonderful week! que bendicion!!!!
con amor,
hermana jones
